Home care is when a professional caregiver or a family member/loved one assists a person (due to age, illness, injury, or disability) with their daily activities in the comfort of their home. This helps the person maintain their independence at home.

Some warning signs a loved one may benefit from home care are forgetfulness, difficulty standing up, balancing or walking, frequent falls, unexplained bruising, forgetting to take medications, missing doctor appointments, confusion of regular daily tasks, poor diet/weight loss, decline of personal hygiene, loss of interests in hobbies, mood swings, Dementia or Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Home health agency services include personal care (help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, transferring/positioning, toileting, etc.) and household assistance (light house cleaning, laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, eating, etc.). Sometimes more advanced care is needed and home health agencies provide skilled care, such as visiting nurses and therapists for patients.

We accept Medicare & Medicaid (Keystone, UPMC, PA Health & Wellness) insurance plans. The cost varies on specific home care services ordered by each patient’s physician. Sometimes care is 100% covered, or it is low-cost to the patient. If it is not covered, other options exist! Upon approval, we also accept VetAssist and OPTIONS. In addition, we have a special personal assistant program where your family members can apply to be your paid caregivers.
